It's alright

Here comes my son
here comes my son,
and I say
it's all right
Little darling,
it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes my son,
here comes my son and I say
it's all right
Little darling,
the smiles returning to their faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes my son
here comes my son
and I say it's all right ...

What's happening

Hey everybody! So, I thought I'd let you know what we are currently waiting for. Our file is in PGN (the equivalent to the attorney generals office). We were originally submitted to PGN November 13, 2006 (ugh). Our file has been kicked out 4 times for various reasons. Our last resubmission was within a day or two of February 20, 2007. The statistical data I have (from various sources) is that files are getting final approval 6-8 weeks after final resubmission. My sources (long story) indicate that submissions from our date (2/20/07) are getting final approval this week. So...everyday I think its going to be the day..and then it isn't, and then it COULD be again. Its horrible!

So..once we get final approval there are more things to be done... but its all US Embassy side and a little easier. We can expect to go get him 2-5 weeks after final approval from the PGN. The variables include details that I will spare you.

So that... is that.

Safe and sound

We are home safe and sound. I left the memory card for the camera at the office... will update the blog with visit trip photos early next week, unless I get to the office sometime this weekend. I am not in as much emotional pain this time... I think its because I know in my bones he will be home soon. He's so cool you guys..I can't wait for everyone to meet him.

What a difference a day makes

oh boy.. Well... jonas had a really tough time transitioning from the foster family to us this time. i knew he would only pick one of us to bond with ..well..let me tell you..it was crystal clear that he wasn't choosing me.

good grief..this child wailed till he was completely out of breath. Gratefully he was a big fan of his abuela. so... he'd cry and i'd cry and it was a disaster, he was inconsolable by me... it was heartbreaking.

mom put him to bed around 9 and he woke up at 7;30..smiling...yeah!!! i got him out of the crib, put him in bed with us...all smiles... We have had a great day today. yesterday i seriously thought i'd have to get a separate room.

i haven't taken any video yet... and very few pictures...gotta get on the ball with that.

until next time.

on our way

Mom got her passport in the mail...this was a concern and I am glad it is in hand. Can't sleep...keep thinking about seeing the baby soon. I have a lot to do before I leave, I hope Wednesday will be productive.

We got broken into again at the hosptial...they came in the same window, this time they stole some money. Somehow they managed to not trip the motion detector. Had the alarm company come out and add some features so this won't happen again. Its such a bummer... hmmm..maybe that's why I can't sleep, worried that someone is going to bust out another window. That makes sense.

SIGH

Ok, I bet I can sleep now that I've recognized this stressor.

...and some more plus some more news.

Well, Uncle Phil Hissom sent Jonas MORE money and his first FIRST birthday card!! We got another sweet letter and check from one of sister Margie's friend's, Terry Stradler. Thank you thank you! Its really amazing what has happend here in the name of love! I am so grateful.

We made it to the old time festival..it was a lot of fun. Geoffrey did enter but didn't win. He made some good contacts in the local music scene and I think we will be checking out the regular "jam" starting the 4th week in April. I definately was inspired to pick up my fiddle again and get to practicing.

On the "not so good news" tip... the hospital was broken into this morning. They broke a window but didn't get far because they tripped the motion detector. Thank goodness we invested in that alarm system!! The sherrif's deputy said several hospitals were broken into this weekend. She believed that spring breakers were here and looking for some good drugs. Too bad for them...good for the window company. We are no worse for the wear aside from having to get up at 5:00am for the alarm company call.

Leaving for Guatemala in four days...I am so excited.
